At Home with YUNGBLUD

Hailing from Doncaster, England, YUNGBLUD has brought punk, rock, and extremes back to the mainstream. His content is raw and empowering to every kind of person out there. His dangerously blunt attitude attracts multitudes of fans akin to that of Marylin MansonÊ»s prime. Dominic prides himself on the community he has grown around the world and the comfort they find within themselves. The charismatic musician broke into the spotlight with his self-titled EP in 2018 and later released his first album, 21st Century Liability. The highly anticipated sophomore album, weird!, released December 4th and features previous singles, cotton candy and strawberry lipstick. The upcoming albumÊ»s title track is a pop-punk spin on post-punk great, The Cure; the songÊ»s poppy tones and lovesick lyrics show a softer side to the edgy singer. Most recently, Dominic headlined the Weird Time of Life virtual tour from November 16th-December 7th.  YUNGBLUD made his directorial debut early November with the official music video for God save me, but donÊ»t drown me out.

A few weeks ago, Juiced! participated in a press conferences with the British singer/multi-instrumentalist and talked to him about his many upcoming projects.

How do you see your outreach being furthered by dividing your creativity into different projects like your music, comic book, and clothing?

I think it just spreads the love! Doing so many different things gives others more to relate to and brings us all together into this community of diverse humans. Bringing people in in different ways allows those people who might have not heard of me or listened to my music before the access into this wonderful community we’ve built through shared feelings/experiences. I just think that this community is so important, you know? IÊ»m not all of YUNGBLUD; IÊ»m only half; the rest of you—the fans—makes up the other 50%. What we all have together is so important and helps so many people  feel seen, safe, and heard. When I can see two people being themselves and together in the crowd, I know what I’m trying to build is coming together.

weird! is streaming on all platforms now!
